Bright Ghazet

June 21, 1993 – September 25, 2012
On August 25, Cedar Ridge Arabians lost a great friend, partner and teacher. Bright Ghazet was laid to rest on Tuesday morning leaving a hole in our hearts. Born in 1993, the impressive bay Half-Arabian, affectionately known as “BG,” had a special spark from the beginning. He was always Mr. Personality and had plenty of quirks, especially when carrots were involved. Over his long show career, he amassed 5 U.S. National titles, 2 Canadian National titles, and 9 Regional Championship titles, along with many other Class A wins. Shown and loved by many people over the years, “BG” came to what would be his final home—Cedar Ridge Arabians—in 2009. At Cedar Ridge, “BG” continued his show career with Robyn Johnson until moving onto his next calling—teaching lessons. A wonderful teacher, “BG” taught many riders about how to ride a show horse and stay on your toes—you never knew when one of those “quirks” was going to come out. Loved by all until the end, he was especially loved by Robyn Johnson, who never failed every week to come visit him and dole out his favorite treats of all, carrots. Goodbye old friend, until we meet again …
